CRUK core funding

The CPTU receives a core funding award from Cancer Research UK (CRUK). CRUK Clinical Trials Units (CTCs) are specialist units that design, conduct, analyse and publish clinical trials. 

The CPTU is unique among CTUs in our focus on prevention and screening rather than trials of treatments for advanced cancer. Our specialist remit is to encourage, design, and facilitate practice-changing trials in cancer prevention, early diagnosis and screening.

All trials are published in high-impact journals, accompanied by a press-release, and all results are disseminated explained to patient groups. Where relevant, evidence will be presented to NICE and similar organisations.
